Add in a warming red wine or a hearty brew such as our Vanilla Stout and you are set to beat the winter chill. Our restaurants are open all weekend and our chefs have crafted some epic dishes with seasonal and local produce. Settle in by one of our fireplaces and tuck in to a wintery feast. The best bit? No-one has to worry about the washing up, you can just enjoy that blissful food coma. Our roasts are super popular at Homestead on weekends. Take your pick from Wagin free range chicken or Amelia Park lamb shoulder, but get in quick. These sell out once diners start seeing them coming out of the kitchen!

4. Up your wine knowledge

Get to know your Sav Blanc from your Semillon and your Cab Merlot from your Cab Sav. What about warm climate vs cool climate? Then there is the question of cellaring…why even bother? How long for? What to pair with dinner? Fish, chicken, lamb, veggies – there is a perfect drop for each. Pop into Mandoon’s Cellar Door and taste our range with our knowledgeable staff who will be more than happy to answer your hot wine topics. Even better? Settle in and enjoy a private winery tour at Mandoon. Taste wine straight from the barrel, chat with our winemakers and finish with a decadent 5 course degustation paired with Mandoon Estate wines. 5. Enjoy some art

We understand if you have missed the fact we have an art gallery here on site. When it’s busy and the sun is shining there is just so much to do and who wants to waste a minute indoors? A rainy day however, and it’s a different story. With a regularly changing selection of artworks and exhibitions, no two visits will be the same. One of Perth’s leading galleries, Linton and Kay Galleries specialise in contemporary painting, sculpture and Aboriginal art from emerging and established artists. The gallery is housed in the original Roe family homestead (circa 1905) overlooking the upper reaches of the Swan River, and exhibits a selection of Australian and international fine art.
